Caribou Ranch Nederland

This is a fun hike that takes you by some old mining buildings. The trail begins just a bit north of Nederland.

The trail changes from wooded areas to open plain areas.

There is a small home in the distance.

There is an uphill climb in the beginning, its time to catch up to the higher altitude.

Here is the mining house. You can rest on the front porch and look in.

We took our lunch break here. Nice sunny day!

You can walk farther back to a chicken house and another building.

Lily Pad Trail Silverthorne

This was a trail that we got to through the town of silverthorne. It was tricky finding the trailhead- follow the way to Wildernest village near the outlet malls. There was plenty of snow.

In the distance you can see the mountains and the ski lifts for Breckenridge.

This was the gorgeous view near the beginning of the hike before we headed into the trees.

This hike was pretty short at 1-1/2 miles each way but looks like you could go further north. We ended at the lake.
